dc.description.abstract	En este estudio se ha realizado un catastro sobre el conocimiento y la aplicación de las metodologías de planificación, seguimiento y control de proyectos utilizadas por las grandes constructoras de Chile. En la ejecución de una obra, la administración de proyectos juega un rol fundamental, su función más importante es la planificación, con la cual es posible anticipar e influenciar futuros eventos que se presentarán en el desarrollo del proyecto. Sin planificación, se vuelve imposible realizar un adecuado control, ya que no existe un criterio comparativo con el estado actual del proyecto. Por lo tanto, dada la importancia que tiene este proceso en el éxito del proyecto, es que el objetivo general de esta investigación es realizar un diagnóstico que permita identificar las principales características de la gestión de planificación, seguimiento y control en grandes constructoras de Chile. Para lograr este objetivo, se aplicó un cuestionario a 29 empresas constructoras elegidas aleatoriamente que pertenecieran a la categoría “Grande 4” de la clasificación de empresas según nivel de ventas del Servicio de Impuestos Internos (SII). De esta forma, y luego del análisis estadístico de los resultados obtenidos de las 52 preguntas del cuestionario, es posible identificar que las grandes constructoras tienen un alto conocimiento, aplicación y manejo de diferentes técnicas de planificación y control de obras, las que están bajo supervisión de profesionales del área de la construcción, quienes utilizan programas computacionales para optimizar estos procesos. Por otra parte, las empresas constructoras encuestadas identifican que la resistencia al cambio y la adaptación de las personas con más antigüedad dentro de los departamentos de planificación es la principal barrera al momento de implementar mejoras en la planificación, seguimiento y control de los proyectos. Lo destacable de las constructoras participantes es que a pesar de las barreras encontradas, las gerencias se muestran disponibles en adoptar nuevas metodologías y aprender el uso de sistemas computacionales que permitan cumplir exitosamente el objetivo y los plazos ejecución de los proyectos.	es
dc.description.abstract-2	A cadastre on knowledge and application of methodologies for planning, monitoring and control of projects used by large construction companies in Chile was carried out in this study. The management of projects plays a fundamental role in the construction execution. The most important function is planning. This makes possible to anticipate and influence future events that will turn up in the development of the project. It may be difficult to carry out an adequate control, because there is no a comparative standard in the current state of the project. Therefore, given the importance of this process for the project success, the general objective of this study was to conduct a diagnosis in order to identify the main characteristics of planning, monitoring and control management in large construction companies in Chile. With the purpose of achieving this objective, a questionnaire was applied in 29 construction companies, which were randomly selected. They must belong to the "Large 4", a category used for classifying companies according to their sales level of the Internal Revenue Service (SII, acronym in Spanish). Thus, and after a statistical analysis of the results obtained from 52 questions in the survey, it is possible to identify that large construction companies have a high knowledge, application and management of different planning and control techniques for construction work. It is supervised by professionals in the construction area, who use computer programs in order to optimize the process. On the other hand, the surveyed construction companies identify that the main obstacle for implementing improvements in planning, monitoring and control of projects is the change resistance and adjustment of employees with more seniority in the planning departments. In spite of the obstacles, it is worth mentioning that managements of the participating construction companies are available to adopt new methodologies and to learn how to use of computer systems that allow them to achieve successfully their objective and execution deadlines of the projects.	en
