dc.description.abstractCONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN EDUCATION IS A HIGHLY RELEVANT ELEMENT FOR THE TRAINING OF NEW PROFESSIONALS WHO COME TO THE LABOR MARKET, IN THE SAME WAY IT BECOMES ESSENTIAL TO BE ABLE TO VERIFY DURING THE TRAINING PROCESS THAT THE COMMITTED GRADUATION PROFILE IS MET. THUS, THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS ARTICLE IS TO APPLY AND ANALYZE INSTRUMENTS TO EVALUATE THE PROGRAMS FOR COMPETENCIES IN THE COMMERCIAL ENGINEERING DEGREE, OF A STATE UNIVERSITY BELONGING TO THE COUNCIL OF RECTORS OF CHILEAN UNIVERSITIES. THE STUDY IS ASCRIBED TO THE MIXED METHODOLOGY AND DEVELOPS TECHNIQUES, SUCH AS DOCUMENTARY ANALYSIS AND QUESTIONNAIRES. IT WAS FOUND THAT ALTHOUGH THE INSTITUTION PRESENTS AND APPLIES VARIOUS ACTIONS TO MONITOR THE CURRICULUM BY COMPETENCIES, A SINGLE CURRICULUM MANAGEMENT AND EVALUATION MODEL IS NOT OBSERVED. IN THIS SENSE, A PROPOSAL IS PROPOSED FOR EVALUATING PROGRAMS BY COMPETENCIES AND MONITORING THE CLASSROOM. THE PERCEPTIONS OF THE STUDENTS INDICATE AGREEMENT WITH WHAT HAS BEEN DONE, HOWEVER, IN THEIR ROLE THERE ARE SOME SHORTCOMINGS RELATED TO THE PREPARATION AND REVIEW OF MATERIAL PROVIDED BY THE TEACHER. IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THESE FEEDBACKS ALLOW CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS, THUS ACHIEVING FURTHER PROGRESS IN THE EDUCATIONAL MODEL BASED ON COMPETENCIES.
