THE PREDOMINANTLY FOREST SURROUNDING THAT CHARACTERIZED THE REGION OF BÍO-BÍO, CHILE, AS THE FIRST PINUS RADIATA COMMERCIAL GROWING AREA OF THE COUNTRY, AS WELL AS THE GEOGRAPHICAL CONCENTRATION OF LARGE BOARD AND PANEL INDUSTRIES ESTABLISHED IN THIS AREA, INVITE THE INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS TO DEVELOP INNOVATIVE MATERIALS THAT INCREASE THE ECONOMICAL AND EMOTIONAL VALUE OF THIS RAW WOOD MATERIAL. THE PRESENT WORK SETS THE TEXTURE DESIGN AS THE PRIMARY ATTENTION FOCUS FOR INNOVATIVE BOARD MANUFACTURING, WHICH REQUIRES AN EXPLORATION OF VARIABLES IN BIONIC METHODOLOGY CONTRIBUTING TO THE CREATIVE PROCESS. A THOROUGH STUDY OF THE CURRENT TECHNOLOGIES EMPLOYED IN THE REGIONAL INDUSTRY AND THE DIVERSITY OF RAW MATERIALS AVAILABLE IN THE MENTIONED GEOGRAPHICAL AREA, ADDITIONALLY TO LABORATORY EXPERIMENTS DESIGNED TO MANAGE THE PROPORTIONS THAT MAKE THE INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION PROCESS TO BE REPRODUCIBLE, ALLOW TO MATERIALIZE PROPOSALS DEFINED UNDER CONCEPTUAL DESIGN IN TEST TUBES. TEXTURES HAVE BEEN SELECTED AND INCORPORATED TO THE BOARDS BY PRESSING SYSTEMS USING HIGH TEMPERATURE, WHILE THE EVALUATION OF EMOTIONS RESULTING FROM THE SURFACE FINISH WAS PERFORMED USING THE SEMANTIC DIFFERENTIAL METHOD.
