dc.description.abstract	El programa de intercambio lingüístico Tandem Speak Up es una iniciativa innovadora que busca fortalecer el proceso del aprendizaje mediante la práctica de la oralidad del Idioma Inglés, con fines comunicacionales. La propuesta metodológica que da vida a Tandem Speak Up se basa en el Enfoque Comunicativo de la enseñanza de un idioma extranjero, y se inspira en la adquisición del lenguaje desde la Teoría de Inteligencias múltiples (IM) de Gardner (1983), y los diversos Estilos de Aprendizaje según Kolb (1984), motivando a estudiantes de diferentes niveles mediante técnicas de Programación Neuro Lingüística (PNL) de Grinder (1980), a practicar y por ende, a aprender Inglés como idioma extranjero de manera significativa y efectiva.	es
dc.description.abstract-2	Many illustrations related to the lexicon and the area of linguistics has emphasized the importance of vocabulary for the mastery of a foreign language. Studies show that the teaching of a big variety of words, favors the abilities to learn the language and the development of their skills, understood by reading, listening, speaking and writing. The research presented in this seminar, is a mixed qualitative study with a descriptive approach and aims to determine the most appropriate and effective methodological strategies used for the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language vocabulary. It is for this reason that the methodologies of keywords, contextual, semantic processes and association of words used for their doctrine were explored, aiming exclusively at the way they are manifested in high school education in the city of Chillán. For its realization, data collection instruments have been applied to teachers and students, whose questions have been focused mainly on their personal experiences and perspectives in relation to the methodologies already mentioned. The results were relevant to understand how teachers and students understand the phenomenon of teaching and learning English as a foreign language. In conclusion, the findings show that the most appropriate and effective strategies for teaching and learning vocabulary of the English language as a foreign language, is the methodology of association of words and keywords	en
